Full Itinerary
Day 1; Kampala City Tour
After breakfast, with your tour guide, you will head to the Lubiri Buganda Kingdom Palace found on Mengo Hill; to view the Royal Regalia, proceed to the Kings’ burial place of Kasubi Tombs. Later drive to Namugongo Martyrs shrine – normally celebrated on 3rd June with several pilgrims from across Africa and the rest of the world, visit the National Museum for the historical and cultural and exhibitions and also Engage in the Ndere Troop Entertainment, before proceeding with a walk into the Nakasero and Owino Market Centers and several other local shops for souvenirs. Dinner and overnight in Kampala.
Day 2: White Water Rafting and Return to Kampala
Early morning (5:30am), following your breakfast, you will be picked up by our company representative from your hotel for a transfer to Jinja. En route take in the beautiful views of the country side, have a stopover at the Sezibwa Falls / engage in a Mabira Forest Walk before continuing with your drive to The Nile Source, take in its beauty and proceed to Bujagali Falls by 8:00 am for the white water rafting briefing and experience as well as other activities like Bungee jumping, squad biking among others.
Please Note: It doesn’t require experience to be a part of this activity and during the briefing, you are also provided with all the necessary rafting gear and also decide on which grade you wish to raft.
There are 8 established grades with the first rapids less challenging and good for the light hearted souls for those interested in grade challenges can even opt for the 8th grade rapid; no matter the grade, they are all very adventurous experiences.
Have lunch after rafting and later set off for your return trip to Kampala.
Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls NP
After breakfast at your hotel, you will hit the road to Murchison Falls NP; Driving North wards(7-8 hours’ drive), you will take in the beautiful scenery views of the country side, reaching Masindi Town just in time for lunch’ Later proceed with your drive to Murchison Falls, upon arrival heads straight to the top of the falls and enjoy the wonderful falls as they squeeze through the narrow passage, falling off in a beautiful fountain. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli (Budget), Parkside Lodge (Midrange) , Pakuba Safari Lodge / Paara Safari Lodge(Luxury).
Day 4: Morning Game drive and Launch Cruise
Rise early, with your morning coffee, embark on an amazing morning game drive through the Nyamsika Plateau; here expect to view the various wildlife species such as Uganda Kob, bushbuck, leopards, spotted hyenas, oribi, sitatunga, waterbucks and hartebeest among others as well as the aquatic species along the river banks inclusive of the crocodiles and hippopotami as well as several bird species like the pelican, Egyptian geese, hombil, shoebill stork etc. Return midmorning to your lodge, have refreshments and lunch; and in the afternoon, engage in an amazing Launch Cruise to the Nile Delta to take in several other wildlife species. Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest NP
Have breakfast and get ready for your transfer to Kibale Forest NP; driving West wards ,enjoy the wonderful views of the country side and Rwenzori ranges, en route stop over at Tooro Palace etc. Upon arrival, take a stride to the beautiful crater lakes region. Dinner and over night at Kyaninga Lodge (Luxury), Primates Lodge Kibale (Midrange) and Kibale Guest Camp (Budget)
Day 6: Chimps Tracking and Bigodi Community Visit
Have breakfast and assemble at Kanyanchu park offices for briefing on chimpanzee tracking exercise before embarking on this wonderful activity. Once found, you will enjoy an hour in their vicinity, observing their behavior while taking photographs and making videos for your memorable experience. Later, in the afternoon, step out for a visit to the Bigodi Sanctuary where you will be rewarded with several bird species inclusive of those endermic to the Albertine Rift. Dinner and over night at Kyaninga Lodge (Luxury), Primates Lodge Kibale (Midrange) and Kibale Guest Camp(Budget)
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
After morning breakfast, you will set off for a 3 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth NP.
Upon arrival, have lunch and proceed with an amazing 2 Hours’ Launch Cruise on the Kazinga Channel where you will be rewarded with clear views of hippos, crocodiles, several bird species, elephants as they all bath in the afternoon sunshine and later have a wonderful evening game drive through the savannah grasslands . Dinner and over night at Enganzi Safari Lodge / Simba Safari Lodge(Budget), Elephant Safari Lodge(Midrange), Mweya Safari Lodge( Luxury).
Day 8: Kalinzu Chimps Tracking and Visit to Katwe Salt Mine
Have breakfast and embark on an exciting chimpanzee tracking exercise in Kalinzu forest reserve. After lunch, set out for a guided nature walk to the Katwe Salt Mine. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge(Luxury), Park View Lodge(Midrange0, Simba Safri Camp(Budget)
Day 9: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Forest NP
Very early in the morning, you will set off with your morning cup of coffee for a wonderful game drive to catch a glimpse of the early risers and late night hunters; hyenas, lions, buffaloes, elephants etc before they go into their hide outs or days’ search for food and shelter. Proceed with your drive to Bwindi Forest NP driving via Ishasha sector for the tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Jungle (Budget / Midrange,), Chameleon Hill / Mahogany springs (luxury).
Day 10: Mountain Gorilla Trek and Batwa Pygmies
Rise early, enjoy your breakfast and assemble at the park offices for morning briefing on the trekking guidelines before embarking on this wonderful expedition through the thick dense canopy forest of Bwindi. Usually, it takes about 30 minutes to several hours to encounter the mountain gorillas; but once got, enjoy an hour with them before retrieving to the starting point (for Certificates of Participation) before retrieving your lodge. Later in the afternoon, head out for the Batwa pgymies tour for a clearer understanding of their culture. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Jungle (Budget / Midrange,), Chameleon Hill / Mahogany springs (luxury).
Day 11: Transfer to Mgahinga NP
Upon rising, enjoy your breakfast and hit the road for Mgahinga National Park – Uganda’s other home to mountain gorillas; it’s also here that we find the amazingly shy golden monkeys. Reaching jusyt in time for lunch; here you can take a forest guided walk through the Mgahinga forest or take a hike to the top of Mt Mgahinga with very rewarding views of Uganda, Rwanda and even Congo. Dinner and overnight at Mgahinga Lodge.
Day 12: Golden Monkey Tracking
Enjoy your ,morning breakfast and head for the Mgahinga park offices (7:00am) to be briefed on the golden monkey tracking code of conduct. Later set off for Lake Bunyonyi- a birder’s paradise. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Kigezi highlands and upon arrival, embark on an amazing Canoe ride to the Islands, engae in activities like fishing, birding etc. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia Cottages (Luxiury), Bunynyi Over Land Resort (Midrange) and Bunyonyi Overland Camp( Budget).
Day 13: Transfer to Lake Mburo NP
Enjoy breakfast and hit the road for a transfer to Lake Mburo NP.Upon arrival, proceed with an amazing game drive watching out for game like elands, antelopes, elephants, Impalas etc and several bird species. Later after lunch, take onto a 2 hours’ boat ride on Lake Mburo for aquatic wildlife viewing; the hippopotami and crocodiles among others. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia Cottages
Day 14: Departure
Have breakfast at leisure and Proceed with your drive to Kampala for drop off at either a hotel or airport for departure flight.
