Day1: Pick up & transfer to Akagera National Park
The driver guide from Lets Go Tours Rwanda will pick you u from either your hotel in Kigali or the airport and transfer you to Akagera National Park. Drive through the beautiful Kigali City to the Eastern region of the country. If time allows, you will have a stop at the Nyakarambi cultural village where visitors are taught how to cement and smear houses with local cow dung. Meet and interact with local people who will be there and then proceed to the Park. The drive time from Kigali to Akagera National Park is roughly 3 hours!
Day 2: Game Viewing & Boat Cruise
Rise up very early and transfer to the park for the morning game drive! The experience is all about game viewing to see different kinds of wild animals in this park hunting, grazing and browsing. Expect to see a lot of animals such as Lions, Leopards Giraffes, Hippos, Crocodiles, Waterbucks, Zebras, Impalas, gazelles, Buffalos, Topis, Elephants, Cape Elands, Duikers, Warthogs, Rhinos and Wildebeest among others. You will return to the lodge for late breakfast and refreshment. Stay at the lodge relaxed as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, drive to Lake Ihema located in the southern part of Akagera National Park for a boat cruise experience! Ihema is the second largest lake in Rwanda whose shores shelter a variety of birds and water animals. Among the birds you will see on your boat cruise at Lake Ihema include African Open Bill Stork, Bateleur, African Fish eagle, Booted eagle, Shoebill, Crested Barbet, Sooty Falcon, Squacco Heron, papyrus Gonolek, Western Reef Heron and Yellow bellied eremomela among others. Day 3: Departure (Optional city tour)
After morning breakfast, check out and transfer to Kigali. Depending on the time of your flight, you may do a city tour in Kigali visiting different destinations in the city center. Visit the Kimironko markets, Kigali convention Centre, presidential palace, Inema Art gallery and genocide sites among others. Thereafter, transfer to the airport for your catch up flight
